NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES THAT GIVES ADMISSION WITHOUT JAMB
Nigerian Universities That Admits Without JAMB
Results
Nigerian Universities That Admits Without JAMB Results –
I do believe this publication will come handy to many who
must have been struggling with Jamb and admission into
the various higher institutions of the country. Well for many,
using Jamb to gain admission into the various universities
in Nigeria have become an uphill task because they have
repeatedly failed to make it past it .
As at now, passing your Jamb is no longer an issue but
making it through the Post Jamb is another hurdle which
have kept many out of higher institution for a very very long
time. Well even at that, some higher institutions in the
country have and are admitting students into their various
programmes without the use of Jamb and that has been the
sole aim why we have decided to publish this article on
Nigerian Universities That Admits Without JAMB Results.
The List of Universities In Nigeria That Admit Without JAMB
are below.
NATIONAL OPEN UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA.
This institution established by the Federal Govt does not
actually require her applicants to write JAMB or tender any
JAMB result before entry into the institution. The Features
of the university is listed below.
– No JAMB result needed
– Get the Application Form and get admitted within 3
days
– They are located throughout Nigeria
– Over 32,000 students
– For undergraduate, Diploma, Certification,
Postgraduate, Masters & Ph.D Programmes
– No strike period
– Four years course
IJMB in UNILORIN, UNIVERSITY OF ABUJA and ABU ZARIA:
This is not Jamb but is called the INTERIM JOINT
MATRICULATION BOARD. From research it shows that
applicants are to apply for an A level program of 9 months
after the completion of the programme, candidates will
qualify into 200 level in the above listed Nigerian
Universities through Direct Entry. Please all applicants are
to note that this INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD
programme is a legitimate program and you can see it in
the JAMB brochure.
The INTERIM JOINT MATRICULATION BOARD programme
only needs your is o’level result which should include the
following Waec, neco, nabteb etc.
THROUGH DIPLOMA OR BASIC OR PRE-DEGREE : From
research, we have discoverd that many Nigerian
Universities if not all do offer a diploma and/or pre-degree
program. For Diploma programmes, they run for about
1/2/3 years. This time duration is largely dependent on the
school and course which the applicants is studying. When
you are done with this programme, you automatically get
admitted into 200 level through direct entry programme if
you actually make it.
Then for Pre-Degree, it runs for 7 months to 9 months. The
time duration is dependent on the school When you are
done with it and do very well in the examination by
surpassing the cut of mark, you are given admission into
100. BASIC in UNIPORT is just the same thing as the Pre-
Degree.
SOME PRIVATE INSTITUTIONS (MADONNA etc) : In some if
not all private institutions in the country, one can get
admission without the use of JAMB. Only the needed
qualification will be the applicants O’ Level Result. Before
the final clearance, your O’ level results must be ready.
I do believe that this piece of information will be very
helpful for those who must have been struggling to gain
admission due to JAMB issues.
If you do think this publication on the “Nigerian Universities
That Admits Without JAMB Results” was helpful, then write
us via the comment box and if you think that there are other
institutions that do accept admission without JAMB, do let
us know via the comment box. Thanks
AWESOME!

Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, has promised
to revamp the educational system in the state, saying
“the state would soon notice a complete change and
revolution in education, as government has put in place
a framework to ensure that model schools spring up in
the three senatorial zones”.
He made the commitment while addressing
participants at the National Television Authorities
(NTA) National Arts, Science and Technology
competition ETV (EXPO) 2016.
Receiving the trophy won by the students in the
competition, at the Government House, Umuahia, the
governor also gave cash rewards to the students as
well as teachers of schools that emerged as winners.
The schools which are located in Aba, the commercial
centre of Abia State, include Dorothy International
college, emerging overall best, with a cash reward of
500,000 Naira, while the first and the second runners –
up, Divine College International and Victory
International College, were rewarded with 300,000 and
200,000 Naira respectively.
The teachers and NTA crew were equally given 500,000
Naira each.
Governor Ikpeazu expressed joy that “Abia by the
victory, has again made a statement in the educational
firmament of the country”.
Furthermore, he said, “the greatest strength of the state
lies in her human resources, and I think that the state
can always work out her destiny.
“I want to commend the schools, especially the college,
for consistently doing the state proud and I
congratulate the teachers and students for their hard
work and perseverance.
“Regrettably, Nigeria as a nation has been unable to
apply the fallout of research efforts, and this
administration cannot afford to ignore the impact of the
inventions by the students.
“This government will do everything possible to take
the research by these students, another step forward to
see if it can be replicated commercially, the governor
added.
Meanwhile, Mr Ikpeazu stressed that his administration
would sustain the efforts towards bringing positive
changes in the education sector, to further create a
conducive teaching and learning environment in the
state.

TREAD WITH CAUTION-- STAKEHOLDERS TO FG
TREAD WITH CAUTION--STAKEHOLDERS TO FG
Stakeholders caution FG on History
ON November 10, 2016 12:13 AM / IN Education ,
News / Comments
By Elizabeth Uwandu
Stakeholders have called on the Federal Government to
tread with caution in the area of the commencement of
the reintroduction of History in the curriculum. They
argued that the absence of availability of trained
History teachers and a formal curriculum may impede
the decision by the Minister of Education, Mallam
Adamu Adamu.
For Mrs Toyin Sode Idowu, an educationist, she said
that the initiative would be a waste if the right teachers
and standard text books for History is not put in place
before the implementation of the new policy. Her
words, “ I love this development , but hope the
reintroduction does not begin this session. There is
need to train History teachers and get standard
textbooks before getting History back into the
classrooms, else the essence of reintroduction of
History will be lost.
The Principal Consultant/CEO Leading Learning
Limited, Dr Folasade Fisayo added that the next step
education policymakers have to take in the
reintroduction of History was to formulate a curriculum
that would better appreciate the diversity and richness
of Nigerians. “ The curriculum is vital and I believe we
will evoke a History curriculum that will build
appreciation and love for our country via its diversity
and richness.” added Fisayo
A parent, Chioma Eke( not real names) on her part
noted that History reinstallation into the curriculum
should not be only a medium of extolation of past
leaders but it should encompass also those the
negative abuses of their authority, to enable future
leaders learn from part mistakes.
“The history of the political leaders of Nigeria should
include their deeds, their feats and of course their
corrupt practices. Children in Nigeria should be able to
read about corruption of leaders just as the world is
reading about the evil deeds of Hitler. This will evoke
a heart of change for good deeds. So, the move to
bring back History is good.
Adeogun Kayode, a journalist while noting that proper
teaching and learning of History would raise a
generation of young people that will better appreciate
the intricacies and intrique of leadership . He rejoiced
that the three arguments for the earlier remover of
History from the curricum are now history themselves.
His words, “ The three arguments for removing History
that included, the dearth of History teachers; lack of job
for history graduates and students apathy to the
subject lacked merit.

CLOSE TO 40% OF NIGERIAN LECTURERS ARE UNQUALIFIED--NUC
– The National Universities Commission (NUC) may
now have a lot of work to do in order to make graduates
in the country marketable
– The NUC has revealed that all is not well with the
country’s universities and has proffered some solutions
to the problem
There have been allegations that Nigerian universities
churn out half-baked graduates yearly and the National
Universities Commission (NUC) may have just cracked
the nut.
The regulatory body has revealed that about 40 percent
of lecturers in the country’s universities do not have the
requisite qualification.
NUC said many lecturers are not qualified
According to the body, the requisite qualification is a
PhD, but just about 60 percent of lecturers have it.
The Nigerian Tribune reports that while lamenting this
situation, the NUC further expressed displeasure at the
inability of the universities to generate serious
endowment fund and investments capable of financing
their recurrent expenditure needs.
The report said the commission, through its executive
secretary, Professor Abubakar Adamu
Rasheed, admonished vice chancellors to begin to see
fundraising and mobilisation as an integral part of their
jobs in response to the realities of today.

Rasheed reportedly spoke as a guest lecturer at the
University of Benin Academic Colloquium, held in
honour of 17 alumni of the institution appointed by the
federal and state governments between 2015 and 2016.
The NUC boss, who was represented by the director of
research in the commission, Dr leiman Ramah, said:
“The critical thinking skills which universities are
expected to instigate in their students constitute a
critical component of the arsenal required if the
Nigerian university system is to live up to expectations
in leading the way in our quest for innovation and
positive change.
“Each academic programme in a university must pay
attention to and incorporate within its curriculum the
commercial and industrial needs and focus of its
discipline.”

Speaking earlier, the vice chancellor of UNIBEN,
Professor Faraday Orumwense, reportedly said the

registrar, bursar, provost and rector, between 2015 and 2016

GOOD NEWS: ASTRONOMY TO BE TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS IN NIGERIA
GOOD NEWS
Akujor insists on astronomy in
The Astronomical Society of Nigeria (ASN), says it has
begun “a major thrust” to ensure that the
fundamentals of “astronomy” are taught in the
educational system at every level.
ASN President, Professor Chidi E. Akujor told The
Guardian, that ASN had, at its just-concluded Annual
General Meeting (AGM), in Abuja, established a
permanent committee to “vigorously pursue” this
objective.
Akujor, who spoke at the National Space Research
and Development Agency (NSRDA), venue of the
conference, said the “Committee on The Promotion of
Astronomy in the School System” would start work
immediately.
“Its terms of reference,” he explained, “are to create
a standardized training programme for primary and
secondary school teachers and for graduates whose
first-degree courses didn’t include astronomy.”
It is quite common, Akujor noted, for students in
Nigerian universities to obtain degrees in disciplines
such as “mathematics,” “chemistry,” “biology” and
“physics” without taking any course in astronomy.
The Society, at its 6th AGM, decided that this
deficiency was no longer tolerable. It proposes state
level diplomas, in Astronomy, and other remedial
action, at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
ASN has mandated the Committee to write and
request that State
Governments “provide us with an opportunity to
train teachers in the various schools in their states—
with no cost to them.”
The Astronomical Society of Nigeria consists of
astronomers, astrophysicists, engineers and scientists
who are interested in promoting astronomy and
space science.
Akujor, an astrophysicist and radio astronomer at
the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Imo
State, said ASN’s role is the “study of Astronomy in
Nigeria and its application for… development.”
He explained further, that the organization was
formerly regional (West African) in scope but is now
a national body, affiliated with the continental
African Astronomical Society (Afas).
Akujor insists that ASN’s initiative is not really a
“reform” of the country’s educational system, as
such, because nothing new is being introduced.

GRADUATE SETS UP FUFU PROCESSING BUSINESS. SEE PHOTOS
AMAZING
A young university graduate, Mr Wilson Ekeledirichukwu,
who set up a fufu processing plant valued at N75,000, at
Ihiagwa, near Owerri, said he established the outfit in order
to be self-employed and also create jobs.
Ekeledirichukwu, a graduate of animal science from the
Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), spoke in
an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on
Friday in Owerri.
NAN reports that fufu is a local delicacy, made from
fermented cassava and is popularly eaten by many
Nigerians, especially people from the Southern and North-
Central Nigeria.
“As an undergraduate, I resolved that I will be among
Nigerians to create jobs and not those looking for jobs that
are not easily available in this country now.
“After my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme
in Oyo State between 2014 and 2015, I first ventured into
paint production but discovered that the project required
much capital,’’ he said.
Ekeledirichukwu said that he finally settled for the
processing of fufu, adding that the equipment for the fufu
processing cost him about N75, 000.
He said that the “uniqueness of our fufu is that it has no
odour,’’ adding that rather than the local method of
pounding fufu, his outfit “uses turning method and gas
cooker to process the product.’’
According to him, he has been supplying fufu to restaurants
in his alma mater, Federal University of Technology, Owerri,
(FUTO), Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Owerri and growing
number of customers.
Ekeledirichukwu put the staff strength of the outfit at three,
with N15,000 each monthly salary. He said that his
intention was to established a food processing firm with
capacity to engage over 100 workers.
“If I sustain the income margin I am making now, I hope to
establish my dream business before long.’’
“I feel that there are vast opportunities to tap by the young
and energetic Nigerians, all that is needed is for people to
have entrepreneurial spirit to drive their vision.’’

SEXUALLY ACTIVE NIGERIANS SHOULD TAKE HPV VACCINE
A Consultant Gynaecologist, Dr Nathaniel Adewole, has
urged all sexually active Nigerians to take the Human
Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine, to prevent them from
contracting the virus.
Adewole, said in Abuja on Thursday that the vaccine
would be more helpful to men or women who had multiple
sex partners.
According to him, the virus is the leading cause of
cervical cancer.
“Any man or woman who has multiple sex partners
stands a high risk of getting the virus, and the virus
cannot be cured, it can only be managed.
“The virus can be transmitted from man to woman,
especially those who have multiple sex partners.
“It is better when you are not HPV exposed; you know
most virus do not have treatment, they can only be
managed.
“A person can take the vaccine to prevent him/her from
having it and a woman that is not HPV positive can take
the injection in order to prevent it.
“The best advice for the man if he has it already is that
his wife should go for screening,’’ Adewole said.
According to him, people who have multiple sex partners,
early exposure to sex, and people who engage in
unprotected sex stand the risk of contracting the virus.
He said that cervical cancer was one of the leading
causes of death among women, especially in sub-
Saharan Africa.
Adewole, therefore, advised women to do regular cervical
screening or Pap smear in order to detect and treat
whatever could lead to cervical cancer at an early stage.
He further advised HPV positive women to continue to
undergo Pap smear screening while non-positive women
should have the screening done at three-year intervals.

OYEDEPO SAYS COMPLAINANTS OVER CONVENANT SCHOOL FEES RISKED WRATH OF GOD
WRATH OF GOD ON PEOPLE THAT COMPLAINS OVER CONVENANT FEES--OYEDEPO
Dr David Oyedepo, the Bishop of the Living Faith Church
worldwide, has appealed to those criticising the school fees
charged by Covenant University to desist to avoid incurring
the wrath of God.
Oyedepo, in a telecast to a pre-Shiloh 2016 Convention
gathering of the church monitored via satellite in Jos on
Saturday, said the critics were acting in ignorance and
risked incurring the wrath of God.
He said one of such critic smitten with a strange plague of
chronic mouth odour over the act only received spiritual
pardon following his confession and “my intervention before
he was restored to dignity”.
Oyedepo said the issue of school fees paid by students of
the university was a godly agenda to meet the demands of
raising godly children in an environment conducive for
learning.
He said such criticisms were products of ignorance as what
students pay could not be compared with what obtained
elsewhere that lacked facilities.
“The school fees has Gods approval and is in accordance
with the quality of facilities provided by the university in
meeting the educational needs of the nation,” he said.
He said the church in its pioneering role in pushing the
frontiers of education with excellence had concluded plans
to establish offshore universities.
The cleric said a fully automated Bible press by the church
had been completed and would be launched soon.
Oyedepo, however, quoting from some verses of the Bible,
which include Matthew 24:6-8, 1Peter 2:9, Joel 2:2 and
Mal. 4:1, said the current economic meltdown was predicted
but that committed Christians would be exempted.
He prayed for resources for parents to always meet the
demands of the time and declared the theme of this year’s
Shiloh holding between Dec. 6 and Dec. 10 as “My Case is
Different”.
The bishop said this year’s annual event of Shiloh would
not be advertised as past events as it would be church
based. (NAN)

NDA GIVES AUTOMATIC ADMISSION TO NASARAWA STUDENTS--BURATAI
The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, has said
that the 150 students of the Command Science School,
Lafia, will get automatic admission into the Nigerian
Defence Academy (NDA) upon graduation.
Buratai stated this yesterday in Lafia during the official
commissioning of the school which is the first and only one
in the entire northern Nigeria, explaining that the project will
enhance military/civilian relationship.
Buraitai, who was represented by the head of administration
in his office, Major General Bello Abubakar, explained that
the project which started in July 2014 is a collaborative
effort between the Army and the Nasarawa State
government.
The Command Science School which took off
17th September 2016 has admitted 150
students into the junior class out of which 130
students are indigenes of the state. He called
on them to reflect the discipline and
uprightness that the military represents,
adding that states like Kebbi, Jigawa among
others are already clamouring for the
establishment of such in their states.
Also speaking, the state governor, Alhaji
Umaru Tanko Al-Makura said that
establishing the school in the state will not
only widen the scope of education and
academic excellence in the state, but will open
opportunities for indigenes who want to take
up career in the military. The governor who was represented
by his deputy, Hon. Silas Agara, urged the management of
the school to make best use of the equipment.
STRANGE: 3 WOUNDED INEKITI TEACHERS' ELECTION
3 Wounded In Ekiti Teachers’
Election
The elections into the State Executive Council of the Nigeria
Union of Teachers (NUT), Ekiti State wing, yesterday turned
bloody as three persons were reportedly wounded and two
arrested by security agents.
Men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps
(NSCDC) and Department of State Security (DSS) had
allegedly beaten and arrested the victims, who were drawn
as delegates in the election from some public secondary
and primary schools across the state.
Mr Lucas Adu, who was vying for the state chairmanship
position in the election, told journalists after the chaos that
the arrested were in the custody of the DSS while the injured
have been taken to Ekiti State University Teaching hospital
for treatment.
Adu, who is one of the aggrieved candidates noted that
some of his supporters had queried the rationale behind the
selection of the delegates and accused the outgoing
chairman, Mr Samuel Akosile of inviting the DSS and NSCDC
to the election venue who shot sporadically into the air to
scare them, causing some members to be wounded in the
ensuing melee.
He also accused the outgoing chairman, Com
Akosile and the NUT
Secretary, Mr Olugbega Ajibade of short-
changing his faction, by allegedly doctoring
the delegate list in favour of another
contestant Com Segun Odugbesan.
Adu said the group had, in a petition dated
October 25 and signed by one Mr Adeparusi
S.T. and addressed to the NUT headquarters
in Abuja, complained about the lopsidedness
and nothing was done to correct the perceived
infraction.
According to him, “We want outright
cancellation of this election. They started by
doctoring the delegate lists. For instance, in Ado local
government, the delegate list ought to be 87, they reduced it
to 37, because Akosile knew that his group didn’t win in the
local government. But he jacked the delegate lists in
councils where his group won.

BE THE KNOWLEDGE BASE OF GOVT: PROF. ELEMO CHARGES ACADEMIA
DIRECTOR, Centre for Environmental Studies and
Sustainable Development, CESSED, Prof. Babajide
Elemo, has called on the academia to serve as the
knowledge base of the government.
He made the call at the Centre’s public lecture on
‘Public Water Supply in the Mega City of Lagos’
handled by guest lecturer Dr. Bola Balogun, Assistant
General Manager,Quality Control, Lagos Water
Corporation and unveiling of its new nomenclature and
logo.
“An appraisal of efforts thus far has showed that the
centre has fairly fulfilled its objective of training
personnel, it has however not matched its objectives in
other cardinal areas such as research, establishing
synergy with ministry agencies and multinational
companies and creating awareness of its existence and
relevance within and outside the country.” Elemo said.
Stating the role of the academia in providing portable
water in Lagos, Dr Bola Balogun said; “The academia
needs to build capacity for water supply and develop
knowledge based innovative solutions to local
problems of improving services in the sector.
They also need to generate, collect and store quality
long term data that will help provide a basis for
planning. Finding lasting solutions to water treatment
and research into salient water incursion is also a way
the academia can contribute to resolving water
generation supply and supply challenges.”
Stating the need for the public lecture, Prof. Elemo,
said; “There is an increasing concern about the
contamination of the various bodies of water available
in Lagos and this is the reason why the university has
deemed it fit to invite her partners in the Ministries of
Environment, Agriculture, Health, Local Government
Sole Administrators and stakeholders, to find lasting
solutions as water itself carries a large proportion in
the composition and maintenance of life.
“Locally the major environmental problems include oil
spillage, deforestation associated with soil erosion,
ozone layer depletion, desertification, acid deposition
as well as water and air pollution. The impact of
environmental degradation is more severe in Lagos
being the commercial nerve centre of the country.

FINALLY: STUDENTS LAMENT COMPULSORY HANDOUTS IN TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS.
FINALLY!!
Students lament compulsory handouts in tertiary
institutions
ON November 3, 2016 10:36 PM / IN Education ,
INSTITUTIONS in Nigeria have long been citadels
where students must buy text books and
‘handouts’ (materials) recommended and written by
their lecturers before they can pass the courses being
taught by the lecturers.
As a result of the recession in the country, students
lament that; instead of being considerate and relax
their resolve of making text books compulsory,
lecturers still compel students to buy their text books,
otherwise, they will fail their courses.
Lecturers, however, revealed that they sell textbooks to
survive the economic hardship since their salaries are
quite discouraging and not being paid as at when due.
Meanwhile, some of the students who spoke to
Quadlife revealed that they are being punished,
intimidated and frustrated by lecturers as a result of
not being able to buy the books compelled to buy.
A female student of Faculty of Arts, University of
Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, who did not want her name in
print revealed that text books are actually made
compulsory in the school by some lecturers amidst this
economic recession. “It has gotten to a point where
one cannot make use of text books used by their elders
simply because the receipts of the text books must be
submitted to the lecturers while registering their
ourses.
Photocopy of the materials
“In my department one lecturer said his textbooks are
not compulsory but will tell the class representative to
get him the names of those that paid. What will he be
doing with the names if the books are not compulsory?
“A lecturer will release materials to students and
demand that they pay certain amount to him for
releasing the materials. What pains me is that we
make the photocopy of the materials with our money
and still pay him for releasing the materials to us. He
used to say, ‘A doctor (Ph.D) cannot release his
knowledge to students free of charge.”
Also lamenting the situation, Ifeanyi Eze (not real
name), a 300-level student of Education and Applied
Arts, Alvan Ikoku College of Education, said that
students face untold hardship in the hands of lecturers
in the form of intimidation, punishment and sometimes,
out-right failing the students.
“For me, as a student, handouts are only necessary and
not compulsory. So, lecturers should not compel
students to buy handouts because, it is too obvious
that most of the textbooks do not correspond with the
course outline.”
Bankole Adure, a Higher National Diploma, HND,
student of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, MAPOLY, Ogun
state, said textbooks and handouts are necessary
ingredients to get good grades as they afford students
the opportunity to get in depth knowledge of their
courses.
Adure frowned at the idea where lecturers compel their
students to buy textbooks and handouts that are not in
line with the course outline. “I believe if textbooks and
handouts are optional, the results of students will be
poor compared to when it is made compulsory.
However, if the handouts do not tally with the subjects,
authorities should not engage students to buy them.”
Another student from Faculty of Education, UNN, who
identified herself as Agatha, noted that some general
courses textbooks in the institution are made
compulsory, adding that if students do not buy them,
they would register the courses and that would be an
automatic fail. “The textbooks of two courses offered
by Center for Entrepreneurship Development are made
compulsory, Statistics, Computer Science and the
General Studies units make textbooks compulsory.”
She noted that the prizes of the books range from
N1200 to N1700.
Explaining the reason lecturers impose texbooks and
handouts on students, a lecturer in one of the federal
universities, Dr. Chukwuemeka (not real name), said;
“You cannot really blame lecturers. Take me for
instance, my salary, as I am speaking to you is N123,
000 based on my rank. If you tell me to relocate to
Lagos, I wouldn’t because the cost of living is so high
and I wouldn’t be able to take anything home.
“A senior lecturer earns about 220, 000, a professor’s
salary stops at 550,000. This is very poor and this is
because the reward for academia is very poor.
Lecturers and teachers are struggling to make ends
meet and their commitment level is therefore low.
WE HOPE 'THEY' LISTEN.

NAIJ--55 LAW STUDENTS TO MISS CALLING TO BAR
We have had some events over the
years like the ‘Walk against Climate Change and
Violence’ that educated people on the climate and on
violence.
“This year we have decided to shift the focus to female
teachers in Nigeria to celebrate and recognize them in
their contribution to nation building through imparting
knowledge. We have lined up activities like pamper
sessions, where some will get a spa session and several
other gift items.”
Adamu further encouraged teachers to attend the event
as it promises to be a special celebration of Nigeria

– The Nigerian Law School is a strict centre which
every would-be lawyer prays to pass through so as to
be called to bar
– However, 55 of the graduating students would not
take part in this year’s call to bar ceremony because
they went against a policy
The Council of Legal Education in Nigeria has punished
a total of 55 students who reportedly went against the
policy of the Nigerian Law School.
While their mates are currently being called to bar, they
would have to wait till next year before taking part and
this must be upon their participation in a dinner to be
organised later in the future.
Some Nigerian lawyers
Their names were released in and their offence was that
they failed to meet the school’s dinning terms.
According to The Nigeria Lawyer, “the students
were said to have arrived late for the dinner which was
the third for the session. This action by the students
was reported to have been a breach of the guidelines
set by the Body of Benchers before a person can be
called to the Nigerian Bar.

“The guidelines state that a student shall (compulsory)
attend all dinning terms fixed by the authorities and
anyone who misses such important dinners shall not be
eligible for the Nigerian Bar in other words shall not be
fit and proper to practice law in Nigeria.”
The report said the release by the Nigerian Law School
further said that the students “shall not be eligible for
the call to bar ceremonies holding in Abuja at the
international conference centre (Abuja). This means
they would be eligible for another call to bar ceremony
to be held sometime next year upon attending a dinner

FUNNY!SEE OLD MEAL VOUCHER USED IN UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN.
WILL YOU BELIEVE THIS?
This was back in the days when a meal cost as low as fifty
kobo (50k). Meals in Nigerian universities were heavily
subsidised by the government, so students, both rich and
poor had access to at least one free mealLIE daily.
In addition, the students were also given fruits and
vegetables to go with the meal. Balanced diet and all that.
Seeing this is very painful. What happened to this great

7 SIGNS OF PEOPLE THAT ARE EXTRAORDINARILY BRILLIANT BUT SILENT
If you could generalize, the most common would be:
1) You keep talking to a person, telling him something you
think he doesn't know. He keeps listening. Then he shares
his insight which makes you think he has already known
everything you told him. Smart people are often silent and
active listeners.
2)Good problem solvers. Not just mathematics problem.
But even daily life problems. They'll quickly find what's
wrong and take the best course of action to solve the
problem. They'll be different in views. And their views will
always come with reason.
3)A quote goes around: Small minds discuss people.
Average mind discuss events. Great minds discuss ideas.
"A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise
man knows himself to be a fool." - William Shakespeare
4)They often look for reasons. It goes in four levels
(worst to best):
What?
How?
Why?
Why not?
5)They can easily prioritize. They know what's important,
give that more resources, and figure out what's not. For that
matter, they are often not perfectionists. They can figure out
feasibility easily. They won't waste time in impossible
errands.
6)They usually don't brag about stuff that they are great at.
You'll need to spend a good amount of time with them to get
to know them. They won't tell you. You will have to
observe.
7)They are excellent planners and will always keep an eye
on the future. They are almost always never pessimists.
They always have positive views.

4 CADETS DIE IN NDA? SEE HOW
Tongues are now wagging in military circles over the
fitness or otherwise of many of the cadets undergoing
training course in the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA),
as well as several others recruited into the armed forces.
The latest revelation followed the death of four cadets who
reportedly died in the nations’ premier military institution,
early October and three weeks after the resumption of
their training.
The NDA, established in the 1960s, runs a five-year
course, four of which is purely for academics with little
military training, leading to the award of B.Sc. or B.A.
honours while the remaining one year is for full military
training.
The premier military institution, for the first time since its
existence, produced female combatants officers in the
Army, Navy and Airforce, last September, while it admitted
about 250 cadets this year, including female cadets.
Following the death of the four cadets, 53 others found
medically unfit for the rigours involved in the training
course were sent packing, even as it has been revealed
that politicians were imposing candidates on the foremost
military institution.
Informed military sources disclosed to our source that the
death of the four cadets in the course of the training
caused much anxiety, forcing the military authorities to
reassess its selection procedure into the academy.
Our source gathered that military board of inquiry
recommended a medical re-examination of all the cadets
selected and admitted for the 2016 academic year, and
discovered that 53 others were not medically fit to be
admitted to go through the strenuous course and were
thus expelled.
It was further disclosed to Saturday Tribune that the
politicians (whose names were not mentioned) are of the
habit of insisting on admission of unfit cadets, as against
the established norm where physical and medical fitness
were parts of the requirement for the admission of would-
be cadets.
This alleged imposition of intending cadets, though said
to be a common phenomenon since the return of
democracy in 1999, has become a source of worry and
concern for the military command, it was learnt.
“The elevation of godfatherism has become more
worrisome as it is depriving a lot of qualified and
medically fit candidates the opportunity to be selected
into the armed forces, unlike what obtained up till the
early 1980s when admission into military institutions was
strictly based on ability to pass all required examinations
and medical tests.
“But these days, the situation is different as intending
candidates now look for politicians from their areas to
submit their names to military authorities, either to be
selected into NDA or to be recruited into the military.
“This has led to pressure on those conducting these
examinations to succumb to the whims and caprices of
the politicians.
“If this situation is not checked, it will destroy the military
which is known for its tradition of discipline because such
unfit candidates are coming from one politician or the
other. The earlier this practice is checked, the better for
the country,” the military source said.

Innovative Mind to represent
Nigeria in JA Africa Company
of the Year competition
By Editor | 03 November 2016 | 3:39 am
Vice President, Human Resources, Team Innovative
Minds, from Caro Favored College, Agejunle, Lagos
State, Ogechi Amadi (left); President Diko Bright;
Kelechukwu Igwe, an engineer and JAN volunteer
mentor; the team’s vice president, in charge of finance
Ifediora Chiamaka, and its managing director,
Athanesius Virginia, shortly after the team emerged
victorious in the Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN)
National Company of the Year Competition.
Innovative Minds Company, from Caro Favoured
School, Ajegunle, Lagos State, will represent Nigeria
at the 2016 Junior Achievement (JA) Africa Company
of the Year competition in Zimbabwe, between
December 7th and 9th.
The team got the mandate for the task at the
recently held senior secondary school
entreprenurship competition, the “National Company
of the Year Compeition (NCOY), which took place at
The Orchid Hotel, Ikota-Epe Expressway Lekki, Lagos
State.
The NCOY is an annual event that brings regional
winners of JA Company Programme across the
country together to compete for the national award.
The programme, among other things teaches senior
secondary students how to start, and run their
businesses from inception to liquidation. They sell
shares, raise start-up capital, pay dividends to
shareholders and use 10 per cent of their profit for a
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
In the course of the programme, participants must
demonstrate a holistic understanding of the
company’s performance as a team, and their
contributions as they defend their annual reports and
host trade booth displays.
The judges in this year’s competition were JAN
ambassador and alumnus of JA Company Programme,
Tunji Eleso; Audu Maikori, Founder/President,
Chocolate City, Mrs Bukky Karibi-Whyte CEO/
Founder The Bobby Taylor Company & Invicta
Communications Limited, and Country Public Affairs
Officer, (Nigeria and Ghana) of CitiBank, Mrs. Lola
Oyeka.
In her keynote address, CEO/President, JA Africa,
Mrs. Elizabeth Bintliff, encouraged students to push
through with their vision, despite the peculiar
obstacles faced by African youths, whom she said
hold the key to successfully strengthening our
nations’ economies.
This years competition showcased ingenuity in areas
of technology, and the use of recyled products, as
confirmed by the rise in the number young women
exploring areas of technology.
Members of Innovative Minds Company, from
Caro Favoured School, Ajegunle, Lagos State,
produced a programmable DOT Matrix LED
displays, which they were able to sell to small
business owners within the Ajegunle community,
who were unable to afford such elegant way of
advertising their products and services. The product
sold alongside a smart remote control that enabled
owners to change the messages scrolling across the
screen, as often as they deemed necessary, without
engaging the services of relevant professionals.
Over the course of the school year, the
team upgraded their product to an eco-friendly
version that didn’t require a power source due to
shortage of electricity supply in their community.
Despite it being a fierce competition, Team Innovative
Minds emerged tops because of the combination of
their savvy use of technology, effective marketing
strategy, and their efforts in meeting a critical need
in their community.
The team, however, attributes its success to
encouragement of Kelechukwu Igwe, who enlisted as
JAN volunteer mentor to them for the duration of
their programme.
