Win 100,000 in The Ignite2 Business Ideas Contest for Nigerians



TYPE OF CONTEST: Business Idea Contest
  
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: With over 200 businesses funded in our first batch: IGNITE1, we are seeking to enroll in the second batch of entrepreneurs who will make up the cohort of IGNITE2.
The Ignite Ideas Contest is an initiative spearheaded by AGDC, with implementing support from Generation Enterprise, sponsorship from The Chair Center and the Lagos State Government, and collaboration from partners such as Digital Jewels and First Bank.
The contest aims to identify, incubate and fund 1,100 viable business concepts in Lagos State.
Each of the One Thousand one hundred (1,100) winners are eligible N100, 000 (One hundred thousand naira only) as seed capital to progress their business ideas and also benefit from business management mentoring by experts.
The submitted business ideas will go through a screening process by a Screening and Selection Committee carefully selected from varying industries across the nation.

ELIGIBILITY: 

1. Applicants must be of Nigeria nationality between the Age bracket of 18-35. Failure to verify age will result in the application being declined.
2. Applications must articulate a specific business problem to solve or opportunity to address. The ideas must be original, address a clear market gap. Applicants must be clear on the benefits from the prize money and the viability of idea must be established.
3. Employees of The Chair Centre Group, Digital Jewels Limited, AGDC etc and their families are not eligible to apply.

PRIZE: Entrepreneurs selected to take part in Ignite are automatically qualified to receive a maximum of N100, 000 interest free loan. The loan has a 3-month moratorium, and must be repaid within a 12-month period (following the 3 month moratorium). Entrepreneurs who perform well and build credit-worthiness during that time may qualify for additional funding and support.

2015 Africa Youth Peace Call Winter Camp Essay Competition (Full scholarship to attend Winter Camp in Ghana).

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This Essay Competition is to encourage students to prepare ahead of the Winter Liberty & Entrepreneurship Camp 2016, scheduled at Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana from 3-8 January, 2016.
Topic: "Five Barriers to Prosperity in Africa: Unchaining the Economy through Economic Freedom ”.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? The competition is open to every African student, out of school youth, entrepreneurs & anyone under 35 years old who cares to discover new ideas.

RULES AND REGULATIONS: 
Topic: "Five Barriers to Prosperity in Africa: Unchaining the Economy through Economic Freedom ”.
All writers must be under the age of 35.
Your essay should not be more than 800 words long. 
All essays must be submitted before 15 November, 2015.
References should be made to works quoted or consulted.
AYPC has the right to publish all essays submitted

The Bodley Head/Financial Times Global Essay Contest



OPPORTUNITY OFFERED: Essay Contest

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Financial Times and The Bodley Head, an imprint of Penguin Random House, are proud to announce their fourth annual essay prize. The Bodley Head/Financial Times Essay Prize aims to discover global young talent in long-form essay writing.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE? This competition is open to anyone between 18-35 years old from any part of the world.

RULES AND REGULATIONS: Judges will be looking for a dynamic, authoritative and lively essay of no more than 3,500 words. It can be journalistic, a case study, wide-ranging or minutely focused. In keeping with the ethos of both sponsors, it can address any topic – from finance and current affairs to history and scientific discovery. We aren't looking for a particular subject; we're simply looking for quality writing.
